Abstract Background Erythema elevatum diutinum (EED) is a rare disease with unknown etiology, various presentations, broad spectrum of underlying conditions, and unified pathology. So, every case it merits further investigation for better understanding its causes pathophysiology. Case presentation I report the 32-year-old otherwise healthy man an 8-year history refractory solitary lesion on his right hand prompt response to dapsone 100 mg BID within 2 weeks without any recurrence after years follow-up. Conclusion This aims inform clinicians about EED in order consider differential diagnosis chronic papule, nodule, or plaque relevant skin sites due protean manifestations, potential diseases, and, finally, excellent dapsone.
